The AEW World champion has topped the sport’s #1 annual ranking for a second time.
As just revealed on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio by PWI Senior Writer Al Castle, Kenny Omega is the #1 ranked wrestler in the 31st annual PWI “500.” Omega, who previously ranked #1 in 2018, places #1 on the strength of three simultaneous world championship reigns in AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA.
Our forthcoming “500” issue—available now for preorder—contains the full list, along with bios for each ranked wrestler, along with criteria and analysis from Pro Wrestling Illustrated staff.
Since its inception in 1979, Pro Wrestling Illustrated has been considered the #1 professional wrestling magazine. And, 40 years on, we pride ourselves on covering wrestling as both sport and art form. The “500” list, first introduced in 1991, has become the signature element and issue of our magazine. More recently, it has been supplemented with our annual women’s wrestling ranking (Women’s 150) and tag team ranking (Tag Team 50). Subscribers get copies of all three for more than 50% off the newsstand price.
